15,075 visitors thronged the aisles at the “Fairyland for Fashion”, which brought together Messe Frankfurt France’s trade shows dedicated to the fashion industry. This was 400 visitors less than in September 2017. For some countries, travel was made difficult for a variety of reasons: bad weather conditions, obtaining visas and unfavourable exchange rates.
A trade show for leather and synthetic materials for the fashion and clothing industry
Messe Frankfurt France launches a new show: Leatherworld Paris, the international trade show for leather and related materials Around fifty exhibitors are expected at this very first show that will cover an overall space of 1500 sqm and will be devoted to the subject of leather and much more besides. South Africa, attending a Messe Frankfurt France trade fair for the first time, is a major player in the leather industry and is the guest of honour this season. This large African country profits from trade agreements with Europe, but also with the United States, which make it an attractive market for fashion brands. Footwear is currently one of the sectors with the highest consumption of leather. Luggage is also an essential item. Production is local for their entire leather sector, from hides to the finished product. South Africa has the advantage that it offers special leathers such as ostrich or crocodile but it also boasts a pioneering textile industry that makes it easy to find leathers, substitute products and synthetic furs.
A trade fair dedicated to leather in all its diversity and to related materials
This September, Messe Frankfurt France will be holding Leatherworld Paris, the launch of the international trade fair dedicated to leather clothing, accessories and products and equivalent techniques. Around fifty exhibitors are expected at this very first show that will cover an overall space of 1500 sqm and will be devoted to the subject of leather and much more besides. From now on, Messe Frankfurt France’s cluster of trade shows for fashion & textiles (Apparel Sourcing, Avantex, Leatherworld, Shawls&Scarves, Texworld et Texworld Denim Paris) will come under “The Fairyland for Fashion” banner and bring over 1850 exhibitors together.
